Shri. Babu Parameswaran is the founder of Keerthana School of Indian Music and Fine Arts in Los Angeles, California. Babu has been actively performing in the United States for more than 25 years and is one of the most full-time Indian Musicians in the United States. He is a versatile artist who can sing both the Carnatic and Hindustani styles of music and also a keyboard artist who can create great music on newly developed synthesizers.
His two-decade stint at BharataKalanjali, run by the dance academy of the world-renowned dancers “The Dhananjayans” has made him a sought-after vocalist in the US. He has performed in most major festivals like the Festival of India in Moscow. He has composed music for many dance productions like Meera, The Nutcracker, The Cinderella, Tagore's Shyama, Thulsi Ramayan, Kalidasa's Malavika Haricharan, and many others. He has performed in Carnegie Hall, as well as for the proclamation of the Pandit Ravishankar day in San Diego.
Babu created computer based music for the contemporary dance production GANGA-LIFE AS A RIVER produced by the Arpana Dance Company. He has worked with Pandit Ravishankar in his musical theater Ghanashyam and was featured in the album chants of India by Pandit Ravishankar and George Harrison of the Beatles. Babu Parameswaran is the first South Indian musician to get a green card on his own merit. He was also the recipient of the Washington Immigrant Achievement Award in 2004. He has performed with leading dancers like The Dhananjayans, Dr. Vyjayanthi Mala Bali, Guru Adyar Lakshman. He has also performed for India’s Dance Icon Prabhu Deva and many others.

As his love for music grew, he was fortunate to receive expert guidance and nurturing from our talented Shri. Babu Parameswaran. Gautham’s passion and persistence coupled with guidance and motivation from his guru played a significant role in shaping his journey in Carnatic Music.
Gautham is a multi-talented person and always looks at the positive side of every aspect he faces in his life. He is a rising-freshman at Northwood High School, California. Over the years, Gautham has performed at many of the Keerthana School of Music’s annual day programs, special events at family gatherings, and functions at local temple celebrations. He distinguishes himself academically as an honors student and is heavily involved with his academic and extracurricular activities.
Gautham’s hobbies include listening to music, playing tennis, piano, and video games, and spending time with his sister. Gautham is also a recipient of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) gold medal after contributing quality volunteer service in his community. In addition to vocals, he explored to play the western classical piano, and has completed the California Certificate of Merit Program levels 1-6. Beyond his vocal talents, he also pursues Western classical piano, completing levels 1 through 6 of the California Certificate of Merit Program. He is also one of the certified level 2 in his leadership training and earned a first degree black belt in Taekwondo.
Currently he is serving as a president at the newly founded Lion’s Heart Volunteer Organization - North Chapter to provide voluntary services to his community. For Gautham, singing has expanded his interest to explore western music and he intends to pursue it by joining choir in Northwood High School in the upcoming academic year.
